Frequently asked questions
Is Sweemy free?
Yes — registration, search, contact and chat are and will remain free. Optional paid services (boosted listings, rent guarantee, etc.) will come later for those who want them.
Which cities is it available in?
We start from a few university cities to build a focused community, then expand to the rest of Italy and Europe. Sign up and we'll tell you as soon as we reach yours.
Is Sweemy a real estate agency?
No. We're an intermediation platform connecting students and owners. No commission on rental contracts.
How do I know the other people are real?
Anyone can verify their profile with a selfie, which we compare with their photo: the «Verified profile» badge appears, and we never keep the selfie. On top of that every photo goes through a check, and a photo is required before writing to an owner.
Is it safe? And what if I find a suspicious profile?
All profiles are moderated, photos only by authenticated users. There's a reporting system active from day one; every report is reviewed within 24h.
